Willow Sketchie Challenge

Great sketch over at Willow Sketchie Challenge this week, thanks Lauren. I thought I'd use it for one of my Spring ATC swaps over on Quirky Crafts, with these lovely Primavera papers from Carolyn Holt designs, which are just so spring like.

WOYWW

Just a quick post for WOYWW - blimey it's addictive, isn't it! Not much crafting going on as I had to bring work home last night and I'm just about to clear it up - however you can see the card I have just finished for my sister-in-law's birthday next month. Am trying to get ahead as I also have my Dad's, Father-in-law's, Godson's and his sisters and all in the space of 9 days - a good excuse to craft if ever I needed one.

Julia - this next photo is taken for you. Last week you asked about 'that anti-social looking hook thing in the pocket of your tool bag facing me'. i am assuming you mean this silver coloured key-ring, or it was a key ring until the decoration fell off. It is just hanging next to my bookring which I'm decorating with my favourite shrink plastic stamps and ribbon, until I decide what to do with it - I promise there is nothing sinister about it.

Latest Quirky Crafts Challenge

This fortnight's challenge over at Quirky Crafts the challenge is Flowers, picked by our lovely Lyn whose blog you can see here with all her gorgeous creations.

Flowers are one of my absolute favourite themes and deciding whether to use flower stamps or papers or ribbons was really difficult and in the end I plumped for my newish layering flower Sizzix die, with the stylised flower Cuttlebug embossing folder and super scrummy bazzill bling card. What is it about that stuff that I just adore so much? Unfortunately my pic doesn't show the colours at their best, but you get the idea!

Anyway - pop on over to QC and show us your flower creations, Lyn's favourite will win a gorgeous prize as this month we are sponsored by the heavenly Crafty Ribbons.

Crafty Pad Challenge and Easter /Spring ATC swap

I have actually got my act together to enter Debbies lovely Crafty Pad challenge which this week is ribbon and oval. So I thought I would combine it with my own ATC swap on Quirky Crafts which is Easter or Spring themed.

I remembered that I had nice Easter egg stamps in the Cute companions stamp sets that I won over a year ago and haven't used in ages and I just love paper piecing the little dresses. Ooh it's like dressing up paper dolls like I did when I was little!!

Willow Sketchie Challenge

Here's my entry for this week's Willow Sketchie Challenge. I was a little concerned when I saw the sketch, but once I 'd started it fell together. I dug out an old set of See-D stamps for this spring theme'd ATC.

This is the birthday card I made for my husband, he really likes real ale type beers and so I used some of the lids which I have been keeping and washing. I then flattened them using pliers then my Sizzix, then linked them together using jump rings and mounted this on the card.

Mothers Day etc

Just a quick post to show my Mothers Day card which I have also used as my card for Quirky Crafts buttons themed challenge

And this card is for my dearest friend Pippa, whose birthday is tomorrow. This is the card I was working on in the WOYWW and is made up of scraps of paper with rubber stamped images over the top.

WOYWW

I've seen this WOYWW blog many times but have never had the chance to enter because I don't usually get to my craft desk till late in the evening. However today I'm here earlier and doing a bit of blog hopping and remembered so here I am. I nearly didn't, as taking a photo of it made me realise how cluttered my desk has become.

If you can actually focus on anything you can at least see the card I am nearly finished for my best friend, whose birthday is on Sunday. I have all the elements and am just working out how to lay them out on the card, it is based on the card in a recent edition of Craft Stamper and uses up scraps (something I have too much of), there are also my U-Mount swirls and ever faithful chalk inks that I was also using on this project. At the back is a glass pendant that I have had for ages but is just on a piece of string - I need to find and attached a decent clasp to it.

And of course my ever present cuppa - a lovely skinny mocha this time!

Off to finish this card and TIDY MY DESK - yep, there go those pigs again!

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #22

I needed a card for a male friend who is quite particular in his tastes, so much so that last year I actually bought him a card (one of the very few I have bought since starting to make cards) and his wife was quite put out!!
So I have gone for greens and oranges and spring colours and split this great Happy Birthday to You stamp instead of using an picture.

I thought the sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp was a great one to use for this project - thanks for the inspiration ladies.
