Sunday Sketch & Stamp #20

Over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp, Ger has drawn a simple but fabulous sketch. Here is my first of what I think will be many cards using this sketch.

Quirky Craft Challenge 20

Can you believe we're up to challenge no 20?!

This fortnight the challenge has been set by our very own admin Quirky Boots and the theme is Teddy Bears. Click here to see what the rest of the DT have created but here is mine below.

I have combined it with the ATC swap I have just launched on QC to use up scraps. The teddy bears come from a 12x12 sheet I bought for use on my MiL's cards but never used it as some of the bears have slightly scary expressions! i have also used ATC backing cards, and brads that I haven't used for ages.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #19 & Penny's challenge # 20

What an interesting sketch over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp this time - really wasn't sure I was going to be able to do it. But that is the whole reason why I like to do these challenges is to give me ideas and inspiration outside of my norm - so here goes:

....and I did so enjoy using my Elusive Images stamps - roughly swirled chalk inks on white card make such good background for the flower stamps, quite mottled and uneven, unfortunatly my photography does not show this off too well.

Penny's challenge is to use chalks and so I hope that chalk inks are included because I use these far more than chalks.

Mum's birthday earrings

Just a quick post to show off the earrings and gift box I have made for my Mum's birthday tomorrow. Most of the bead and stuff I had lying around although I must confess to buying a few more beads. I really enjoy bead work but I really must not get into it in a big way - I don't have the time to do the other crafts that I have stash for, let alone starting another!

However I made the box from a template that came free with a magazine the my friend subscribed to for me so I needed something to go in it. And that's my excuse!

Quirky Craft Challenge19

It's my challenge this fortnight over at Quirky Crafts and for some unknown reason I chose the theme of YELLOW! I can only assume that when I was picking this theme I decided to pick something outside my comfort zone, but it was fun to do. Also I have noticed that the phrase 'bright and cheery' is mentioned many times - which is just what we need it January.

This month we are being sponsored by the fabulous Crafty Pad. Click here to see Debbie's fab stamps and digi images and here to join in her weekly challenges.

Here is my entry for the challenge using one of Debbie's digi images 'Roshell with umbrella'. I loved adding lots of sparkle to this ( although the photo doesnt show this well) and paper piecing the umbrella and matching it with paper on the card.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #18

This is gorgeous sketch to work with - lots of lovely detail. I have used a gorgeous stamped image I received but don't know what it is - so if anyone can help I'd love to know as it is fab.

I have gone for bright and cheery pinks and greens a combination which I just love, but not too bright as the card is for my Mum's birthday in a couple of weeks.

Hope you like!
